The Cretan cuisine offers food that is healthier than most other places in the world. This is reflected directly in the fact that the average life expectancy is higher in Crete than in the rest of Greece and thus the longest in Europe!
The olive oil, the Cretan cheese, meat from sheep and goats who have walked more or less freely in Crete valleys and mountains. Various beans with exciting flavors. Snails cooked in different ways, and not least the “weeds” Chorta.
It is edible, green leaves, which grow wild in nature, for example the shots from wild fennel, which picked from february to May. There are also chrota grown.
